Senior Transmission Line Engineer

Job Summary

• Develop Transmission Line design knowledge about PLS-CADD, structure staking, foundations, assembly drawings, steel pole performance loading, material procurement, construction specification, and construction support
• Project Manager Support
• Maintain project status reports
• Provide weekly or bi-weekly project updates and project forecasting
• Lead and/or support PM by meeting with clients, both in-person and remotely
• Develop client relationships, allowing company the opportunity to position ourselves to win future work
• Department Manager Support
• Support resource forecast planning for upcoming and current project loads
• Participate in new hire screening and review processes
• Provide business improvement methodologies and procedures
• Discuss project and/or department personnel conflicts and performance issues and collaborate on a suitable approach to constructively provide a successful resolution
• Contribute to Business Planning and Budgeting

Responsibilities

• Design and develop schematics for complex engineering projects.
• Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
• Utilize vision inspection systems to ensure product quality and compliance with specifications.
• Create detailed designs using SolidWorks and MicroStation.
• Collaborate on system design processes to enhance product functionality and performance.
• Fabricate prototypes and models to validate design concepts.
• Write scripts in Perl for automation of engineering tasks.
• Work with Revit for building information modeling (BIM) projects.
• Lead cross-functional teams in project execution, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices in mechanical engineering.

Required Education/Experience:

• At least 07 years of experience in the design of overhead High Voltage and Extra High Voltage transmission lines including route selection, line and structure spotting, structure design and analysis, and development of construction bid packages

• Professional Engineering licensure OR EIT (Preffered )

• Bachelor of Science in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or Construction Management

• The candidate must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel.

• Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite

• PLS-CADD proficiency

• Experience managing projects and leading multi-disciplined teams

• Preferred Education/Experience:

• Electric utility industry experience

• Distribution design experience

• Experience using POLE, TOWER and FAD Tools software packages

• Cost estimating and scheduling

• Experience using L=Pile and Microsoft Projects

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $150,505.00 - $190,541.00 per year
