Senior Software Engineer - Rust / Go / Robotics

We’re working with an interesting startup that is building the next generation camera operating system with features like intelligent framing, remote control, image optimization, and advanced visual effects. Their system integrates seamlessly with PTZ and robotic cameras, enabling automated movements, real-time subject tracking, and global remote access.

They're seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Encoder team working on a full time remote basis (must be located in North America). You'll lead the development of edge-deployed software—running on-site and on-device—using Go and Rust. This role involves tackling the challenges of both embedded and high-performance systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build edge-deployed software in Go and Rust
• Lead full project lifecycles from concept to deployment
• Optimize high-performance video systems for real-world network conditions
• Collaborate with ML engineers to integrate AI components
• Shape system architecture and contribute to overall design
• Stay current on relevant technologies and industry trends

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Senior Engineer
• Strong skills in Go and Rust
• Experience with embedded systems, robotics, or PTZ cameras is a plus
• Familiarity with React and TypeScript is helpful
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
• Comfortable working independently in a small, remote-first team
