About Uli Asia Pacific

ULI, the Urban Land Institute, is a non-profit research and education organisation focused on the real estate sector with a strong mission, to shape the future of the built environment for transformative impact in communities worldwide. To advance the mission, the members have identified three mission priorities, which are decarbonisation, affordable and adequate housing and educating the next generation of real estate leaders.

Founded in 1936, we have over 48,000 members worldwide, representing the entire spectrum of land use and real estate development disciplines working in private and public sectors.

With a regional headquarters in Hong Kong, ULI Asia Pacific has more than 3,000 members across Australia, China, Hong Kong SAR, India, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, and South Korea.

The region has an ambitious growth plan to expand this network, deepen member engagement, continue to provide a platform for the industry to accelerate the decarbonization of the built environment, inspire best practices for equitable and sustainable land use, and educate the next generation of diverse leaders.

To support this growth, ULI Asia Pacific is seeking an experienced, highly organised individual to lead our Marketing & Communications team for the region. The role will be critical in enhancing ULI’s visibility, strengthening its value proposition and brand awareness, and ultimately driving membership growth and retention, financial performance, and advancing mission impact.

Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Marketing and Communications professional to lead and elevate our marketing and communications capabilities across the Asia Pacific region. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for crafting and executing multi-channel marketing and communications strategies that align with our mission and long-term objectives—and that resonate across our diverse markets, currently spanning eight countries.

Your leadership will be essential to build brand recognition, drive engagement, support business development and sales, and expand our reach to current and prospective members across markets. Working closely with regional and local leadership teams, you will bring vision and creative direction to ensure ULI remains at the forefront of the built environment industry, delivering exceptional value to members and stakeholders alike.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious marketing and communications leader who is passionate about making a meaningful impact in their profession and thrives in a dynamic, mission-driven environment. Your efforts will directly support the growth of a vibrant community of real estate professionals committed to excellence and far reaching social impact.

As a regional leader in a lean, professional, member driven, not-for profit organization, the selected candidate and her/his team will thrive in a fast paced, hands-on, results-oriented environment. The successful candidate will have the ability to multi-task, manage competing deadlines, and deliver timely and tangible support to leanly staffed in-country teams.

You will spend approximately 50% of your effort on regional programmes and initiatives and 50% supporting ULI Asia Pacific’s eight Local Councils (Australia, China, Hong Kong SAR, India, Philippines, Singapore and South Korea).

One of your top priorities upon joining will be to develop and implement a 90-day plan that will include defining marketing and communications responsibilities clearly across the organization, taking inventory of outstanding marketing and communications activities, updating marketing collateral to support business development and sales, supporting high profile programmes and events, and creating a marketing and communications plan aligned with business priorities.

Further, you will work closely with the ULI Asia Pacific Executive Committee’s newly established Marketing and Communications Committee to help shape and implement your marketing and communications strategies and plans.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Relevant experience and capabilities in marketing and communications, preferably with a strong understanding of the built environment or related sectors.
  • Experience managing integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns—including digital, social media, content, and event marketing.
  • Experience in communications, including internal and external communications and the development and execution of media strategies and plans.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with lean cross-functional teams across geographies to meet regional business objectives, business plan goals and deadlines
  • Relevant experience building and managing a diverse regional marketing and communications team, primary based in the Philippines
  • Personality and can-do mindset to roll-up your sleeves when needed to get the job done
  • Creative acumen along with a relentless focus on quality and detail, instilled in your team
  • Possess a deep appreciation for cultural diversity and the nuances of delivering a consistent brand experience across multiple markets.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop regional campaigns that reflect cultural sensitivities and marketing and media preferences for local markets.
  • Collaborate with senior country leads to support the marketing of local conferences and major events in alignment with global and regional branding and messaging.

Content and Channel Management

  • Oversee all external content and communications channels, including the website, email marketing, and social media channels including LinkedIn, Instagram, WeChat, YouTube, Facebook, etc.
  • Create and maintain brand-aligned marketing collaterals, templates, and visual assets for the region and local councils.
  • Work closely with the Global Integrated Marketing team on international campaigns, brand consistency and alignment.

Performance and Innovation

  • Explore and implement new technologies and tools to enhance productivity, enhance the ULI brand and increase member engagement across the region.

  • Proven ability to lead a remote marketing and communications team in a fast-paced and multi-tasking environment, and to collaborate with remote and cross-functional teams across various time zones and cultures.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and use of metrics to guide decision-making, strategy refinement and performance measurement.
