Social Media Manager

UNTOLD is a multi-award-winning brand storytelling and marketing agency specialising in drinks, food, hotels, travel, luxury and heritage. Our founders, Rob Cowen and Theo Cooper, bring together a combined 50 years of storytelling expertise, journalistic insight and marketing acumen.

With various new clients across our specialisms, we’re now looking for a new team member to support us, our clients and work and grow with us as our agency goes from strength to strength.

Are you an experienced, ambitious and self-starting Social Media Manager with bags of energy and an eye for creative flair? Then this is for you. We need someone who will play a key role in shaping and executing innovative social media strategies. In this role, you will manage and grow social media presence across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, and YouTube. You’ll collaborate closely with our creative team to develop compelling content, engage with audiences, and leverage platform capabilities to enhance brand visibility. With a strong understanding of social media trends, content creation tools, and ideally some Meta Ads management too, you’ll drive impactful campaigns that connect with audiences and deliver results.

Key Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL:

You need good, provable experience for recognizable brands doing the below:

Social Media Management:

  • Knowing 'what good looks like' when it comes to social media in 2025, narratively and visually.
  • Execute and manage social media strategies for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Develop strategy alongside the creative team to best utilise platform capabilities.
  • Manage day-to-day social media interactions, including responding to comments, messages, and engaging with followers ensuring consistency with brand voice and messaging.
  • Analyse and report on social media performance, using insights to refine strategies and improve results.
  • Strong understanding of each platform’s features, audience demographics, and best practices.
  • Monitor social media trends, industry news, and competitor activity to stay ahead of the curve.

PREFERRED:

Any mix of the below is welcomed, but we are flexible on these:

Content creation:

  • Some content creation ability preferred, example tools e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.
  • Video editing and photo-editing skills a bonus but not essential
  • Knowledge of content specifications for paid campaigns.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to adapt content to different platforms and audiences.
  • Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and standards.

Meta Ads Management:

  • Plan, execute, and optimise Awareness campaigns (E-com & Lead Gen specialism not required for this role)
  • Create ad campaigns, set targeting, and budget strategies to achieve KPIs.
  • Analyse ad performance and provide actionable insights for campaign optimisation.
  • Work closely with the creative team to develop compelling ad creatives and copy that resonate with target audiences.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Meta advertising trends, features, and best practices

Key attributes:

  • Being nice, friendly and professional.. sense of humour wouldn't hurt.
  • Proficiency in managing accounts within Meta Business Portfolios (a.k.a. Business Suite / Business Manager)
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for storytelling through smart marketing.
  • Use data-driven insights to continuously optimise both organic social media content and Meta ad campaigns.
  • Problem-solving mindset and proactive in troubleshooting issues and finding solutions.

Additional desirable skills:

  • Understanding of SEO and how it applies to video and social media content.
  • Experience working with influencer partnerships or affiliate marketing
  • Basic graphic design skills.
  • Paid media experience of YouTube and TikTok and Google.

Location

HYBRID. Ideally a mixture of remote working and occasional working from our main office in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. To be discussed based on your location.

Rate & Hours

Initially a contract position, paying a competitive day rate, applicable to your experience. We’re open to discussions on the number of hours/days per week set against day rate, again depending on experience. We are aiming for the position to ultimately be permanent if that is desired.
