Here's a Summary Of Responsibilities
The Design Specialist – Commercial is a key member of the Brand, Identity & Look team responsible for translating Team USA’s commercial partnerships into compelling, brand-led creative expressions.
Reporting directly to the Senior Director, Brand, Identity & Look, this role will partner closely with Commercial, Partnership Marketing, and cross-functional teams to develop concepts, visual systems, and high-impact creative that bring partnership opportunities to life while strengthening the Team USA brand.
This role sits at the intersection of brand design, commercial storytelling, and creative strategy—bringing a strong design perspective to how Team USA shows up alongside its partners.
This is not a traditional creativeservicesor production role. The Design Specialist will work upstream to develop concepts, explore visual approaches, and help ensure commercial expressions are distinctive, elevated, and consistent with the broader Team USA identity.

_Commercial Brand Expression

- Develop creative concepts and visual expressions for key Team USA commercial partnerships and partner-facing initiatives.
- Translate partnership strategies, narratives, and business opportunities into compelling visual concepts and brand experiences.
- Create design solutions that balance the equities of Team USA and its partners while maintaining the strength and integrity of the Team USA brand.
- Contribute to scalable visual frameworks and design principles for recurring commercial programs, properties, and partnership applications.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen how commercial partnerships live within the broader Team USA brand ecosystem.
_Concept Development & Visual Storytelling
_
- Transform early-stage ideas and strategic narratives into clear, sophisticated visual concepts.
- Develop mockups, prototypes, and proofs-of-concept that make partnership opportunities tangible and demonstrate their creative potential.
- Create visual storytelling that helps partners envision how their brands can meaningfully participate in the Team USA experience.
- Apply a strong point of view across typography, composition, imagery, graphic systems, and overall design execution.
- Explore multiple creative directions and rapidly iterate as partnership opportunities evolve.
_Partnership & Pitch Development

- Partner with Commercial and Partnership Marketing teams to develop and elevate high-priority partner presentations, pitches, and creative proposals.
- Turn complex information and partnership narratives into visual-first storytelling that is clear, persuasive, and emotionally engaging.
- Develop partner-specific concepts that demonstrate the potential breadth and impact of a Team USA partnership.
- Support major commercial opportunities with creative thinking that extends beyond presentation design into broader brand expression and activation concepts.
_Brand Stewardship

- Ensure commercial creative consistently reflects Team USA's brand strategy, identity, and visual standards.
- Partner with Brand, Identity & Look leadership to develop approaches for how partner brands coexist with Team USA across the broader identity system.
- Contribute to repeatable tools, templates, systems, and guidance that improve consistency across commercial applications.
- Help elevate the standard for how Team USA partnership creative is developed and presented across the organization.
- Serve as a design and brand resource when collaborating with internal teams, agencies, partners, and external collaborators.
_Cross-Functional Collaboration
_
- Work directly with Commercial, Partnership Marketing, Brand, and other cross-functional stakeholders from initial brief through creative development.
- Collaborate with Studio and production resources as concepts move from development into execution and delivery.
- Partner with external agencies and creative resources when additional production or specialized capabilities are required.
- Present and articulate creative thinking to internal stakeholders and, when appropriate, external partners.
- Manage multiple projects and evolving priorities while maintaining a consistently high standard of design craft.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Here are the skills and experience you'll need to be effective:
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, art, or related field or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of experience at a marketing/advertising agency or as an in-house designer, with a strong focus on presentation, pitch, or sales enablement design. Experience with sports, entertainment, culture, or other consumer-facing organizations is beneficial but not required
- Proven experience designing high-quality presentations and visual materials for business development, sales, partnerships, sponsorships, or integrated campaigns
- Experience working within established brand systems and identities across multiple formats and channels, with the ability to identify opportunities to evolve and extend them
- Demonstrated ability to translate abstract strategies and early-stage ideas into tangible creative concepts
- Excellent skills in typography, color theory, layout, and composition, with a strong emphasis on presentation design and visual storytelling
- Advanced/expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint, Google Slides, Figma, and other industry-standard design and presentation tools
- Strong ability to translate complex ideas into clear, visually engaging content
- Experience creating polished, client-facing materials with a high level of attention to detail
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining quality, in a fast-moving environment where briefs and priorities may evolve
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate creative decisions and collaborate effectively across cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while taking direction and feedback

Here's Some More Information You Need To Know
- Hiring pay range $85,000 - $87,000 per year.
- This Full-Time, Exempt position is intended to work 40 hours per week.
- Bonus: This position will be eligible for the Annual Incentive Award Program, which has a 10% target. The USOPC may change or eliminate this program at any time at its sole discretion.
