Role Overview
UK Management College (UKMC) is seeking an experienced and highly creative Senior Graphic Designer & Video Editor to support its fast-paced marketing and communications team. The role will produce premium, brand-consistent creative content. The successful candidate must combine strong creative judgement with speed, accuracy and excellent English, delivering urgent work without compromising quality.
Key Responsibilities
Graphic Design
- Create high-quality designs for student recruitment, brand awareness, partnership and event campaigns.
- Design paid advertising creatives for Meta, Google, TikTok, LinkedIn and other digital platforms.
- Produce social media posts, carousels, reels, display banners, website graphics, brochures, prospectuses, magazines and presentations.
- Create modern, professional concepts suited to the UK higher education sector and UKMC’s mature learner audience.
- Adapt approved designs into multiple platform sizes while maintaining hierarchy, readability and visual impact.
- Apply UKMC and university partner branding accurately, including correct logos, colours, typography and co-branding requirements.
- Produce polished, original work that does not look generic, overly templated or AI-generated.
Video Editing
- Professionally edit YouTube-style videos, student testimonials, interviews, podcasts, event highlights, campus videos, course promotions, partnership announcements and paid video advertisements.
- Edit short-form content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube Shorts using strong hooks, pacing and platform-appropriate storytelling.
- Use professional transitions, subtitles, sound design, music, colour correction, audio enhancement and visual effects.
- Turn long-form recordings into multiple short, engaging social media clips.
- Add branded titles, lower thirds, captions, end screens, calls to action and logo animations.
- Export content in the correct aspect ratios, resolutions and formats for each platform.
Animation and Storyboarding
- Create motion graphics, animated text, logo animations, transitions and promotional visual effects.
- Develop clear storyboards and visual plans for major campaigns, interviews, explainers and event videos.
- Translate marketing briefs into strong creative concepts and visual narratives.
- Produce animated explainers, campaign graphics and presentation content where required.
Quality Control
- Proofread every creative before submission and ensure there are no spelling, grammar, punctuation or formatting errors.
- Maintain complete accuracy across course titles, university names, dates, locations, eligibility information and campaign messaging.
- Check that all logos are correct, proportionate and positioned appropriately.
- Ensure all final exports are high-resolution, professionally finished and publication-ready.
- Maintain organised editable source files, naming conventions and version control.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5 years of professional graphic design and video editing experience, including senior or lead-level responsibility.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro and After Effects.
- Strong working knowledge of Canva Pro and the ability to create and manage professional templates.
- Excellent portfolio covering premium design, digital advertising, social media, long-form video, short-form video, animation and motion graphics.
- Excellent understanding of typography, layout, spacing, colour, composition, branding and visual hierarchy.
- Experience preparing both digital assets and print-ready artwork.
- Professional English reading and writing skills with exceptional proofreading accuracy.
- Ability to work quickly under urgent deadlines while maintaining consistently high standards.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and respond positively to feedback.
- Experience producing prospectuses, magazines, brochures and large-format print designs.
- Experience editing podcasts, interviews, testimonials and event recap videos.
- Confident use of AI-supported creative tools while maintaining original, professional and brand-appropriate output.
