The film blends camp, neon-soaked aesthetics, and heartfelt storytelling, and the role will focus on building online communities, generating excitement, and supporting crowdfunding and festival promotion. This is an opportunity to creatively shape the voice of a unique film project, connecting with horror enthusiasts, LGBTQ+ audiences, and film communities across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy tailored to the film’s identity, audience, and promotional goals
Manage daily posting and community engagement across Instagram, TikTok, Twitter/X, and YouTube Shorts
Produce and edit engaging short-form video content that reflects the film’s style and tone
Collaborate with the creative team to design shareable visual assets, teasers, and campaign materials
Plan and oversee paid ad campaigns to support crowdfunding and festival awareness
Track, analyze, and report on audience growth, engagement, and campaign performance using analytics tools
Build relationships with online horror, queer, and independent film communities to amplify reach and visibility

Skills and Requirements

Proven experience in social media management within the entertainment, film, or creative industries
Strong understanding of horror and/or queer cultural spaces and ability to create authentic, resonant content
Proficiency in short-form video editing tools and graphic design basics
Familiarity with social scheduling tools such as Buffer, Hootsuite, or similar platforms
Knowledge of paid ad campaign setup and optimization for social media channels
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage diverse online communities
Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage long-term campaigns tied to production and festival timelines
Remote availability with flexibility to align with project milestones, crowdfunding phases, and promotional windows
