Job Description:
We are seeking a strategic, dynamic, and results-driven individual to join our team as the Director of Business Development. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for driving our growth strategy and expanding our client portfolio within the cleantech industry. Working closely with senior leadership and agency client account leads, you will lead our agency's efforts to identify and secure new business opportunities, develop strategic partnerships, and build strong relationships with key stakeholders - ultimately driving completed sales, revenue, and client portfolio growth.

Strategic Business Development Responsibilities:
Build strategic growth initiatives to identify leads and agency growth opportunities in renewable industries, including but not limited to outreach strategies, networking, advertising, sponsorships, events, and more.
Develop and nurture a robust pipeline of qualified leads. Manage and track progress through the sales cycle using CRM tools.
Develop a deep understanding of client needs and how our agency meets these needs with tailored marketing solutions. Be able to clearly articulate our brand story, capabilities, and unique value proposition.
Conduct targeted outreach to secure introductory meetings and invitations for the agency to bid on new business opportunities that align with our agency's vision and goals. Drive the proposal process for key opportunities, overseeing the development of customized proposals and presentations.
Participate in the client onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition for new clients while working closely with account teams.
Contribute to client retention by working closely with the agency management team to ensure high levels of client satisfaction and retention through exceptional service delivery and ongoing support.
Market Research & Networking Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive market research to identify potential clients, market trends, and the competitive landscape within the cleantech sector.
Develop an annual business development plan, including key strategies and tactics, with quarterly and annual sales targets.
Develop and implement effective lead generation strategies to attract potential clients and expand our client base.
Initiate and nurture relationships with key decision-makers, C-level executives, and other stakeholders in cleantech and other renewable companies.
Represent the agency at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote services and establish thought leadership in the cleantech space.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or account management, preferably within the marketing, advertising, or renewables industry.
Ability to move prospects through the sales cycle from top of funnel to conversion (choosing twentytwo & brand as their agency of record).
A strong understanding of the cleantech sector - including renewable energy, sustainability, and other related areas - is strongly preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence senior-level executives and decision-makers.
Strategic and results-driven mindset.
A passion for driving sustainable growth and positive impact.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational and time management skills.
Proficiency in CRM software and other sales and marketing tools.
Ability to work effectively in a fully remote setting.
Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings, trade shows, and industry events (estimated 10-15%).
