About The Role

You’ll be designing and optimizing AI models, fine-tuning LLMs, OCR, and other AI-driven systems to streamline complex workflows and make insurance automation smarter, faster, and more reliable.

We’re solving deep-rooted inefficiencies that insurance agencies have struggled with for decades—so much so that prospects have nearly teared up realizing how much time and effort our solutions will save them. Your work won’t be theoretical—it will directly transform the way thousands of businesses operate.

What You’ll Do:

• Architect and develop scalable TypeScript microservices powering XILO’s platform.
• Design and optimize workflows for AI-driven customer interactions with the help of integration and fine tuning LLMs.
• Prepare datasets for LLM fine-tuning.
• Optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, frontend, data science) to deliver seamless integrations.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team culture.
• Implement best practices for API security, data privacy, and maintainability.

What we’re looking for

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience, with at least 2 years of expertise in TypeScript/Node.js.
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture and cloud-based deployment (AWS, Heroku).
• Deep understanding of Postgres database architecture and design.
• Proven experience with scalable API design and database optimization.
• Experience in fine-tuning and integration with LLMs (ChatGPT, ClaudeAI, Llama, etc.)
• Experience in gathering datasets for LLM fine-tuning.
• Passion for writing clean, maintainable, and testable code.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
• A collaborative mindset with a willingness to mentor and learn from others.
