About The Role

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll be a key player in designing, building, and scaling our TypeScript-based microservices. This role offers flexibility to specialize in OCR, RPA, CRM, Workflows or Forms depending on your interests and expertise. You’ll collaborate across teams, solve complex technical challenges, and directly contribute to the transformation of an entire industry.

What You’ll Do:

• Architect and develop scalable TypeScript microservices powering XILO’s platform.
• Implement advanced features in one or more focus areas:
• ○ OCR: Enhance document digitization and data extraction pipelines.
• ○ RPA: Build bots to automate repetitive tasks and drive efficiency.
• ○ CRM: Architect and develop microservices for our CRM system.
• ○ Workflow: Automate actions and integrations with different systems.
• ○ Forms: Build and maintain the backend part of dynamic forms solution.
• Optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, frontend, data science) to deliver seamless integrations.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team culture.
• Implement best practices for API security, data privacy, and maintainability.

What we’re looking for

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience, with expertise in TypeScript/Node.js.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and cloud-based deployment (AWS, Heroku) is a big plus
• Deep understanding of Postgres database architecture and design.
• Proven experience with scalable API design and database optimization.
• Hands-on experience with Nest.Js
• Expertise in one or more areas: OCR (e.g., Azure Form Recognizer, AWS Textract, etc.), RPA tools, CRM (Salesforce, MS Dynamics365, Zoho), or Workflow automation (Zapier, Make(Integromat), IFTTT)
• Passion for writing clean, maintainable, and testable code.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
• A collaborative mindset with a willingness to mentor and learn from others.
