Lead User Experience Designer
We’re seeking a hands-on, seasoned hybrid/product designer with strong UX expertise and leadership skills. In this role, you’ll drive end-to-end experience strategy—from research and concept to execution—crafting data-driven, human-centered solutions across industries such as travel, hospitality, and food. You’ll lead by example, mentor junior designers, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and clients to deliver high-quality, inclusive, and accessible experiences.
What You’ll Do
UX Strategy & Design
- Lead and execute discovery activities (e.g. workshops, interviews, audits) to define experience strategy
- Design and iterate on user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and service blueprints based on research and testing
- Present and defend design solutions to internal teams and clients
User Research & Testing
- Conduct and analyze user research (e.g. IDIs, focus groups, usability testing) to uncover insights
- Create personas, journey maps, and other research artifacts to guide design decisions
- Continuously test and refine designs based on feedback and behavioral data
Inclusive Design
- Champion accessibility best practices
- Ensure solutions are usable across all backgrounds, abilities, and demographics
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders
- Clearly communicate design rationale to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Step into existing projects and client relationships with confidence and clarity
Leadership & Mentorship
- Set quality standards for UX deliverables and design processes
- Support junior designers’ growth through feedback and guidance
- Contribute to business development efforts as needed
- Stay current with tools, trends, and best practices in UX and product design
Qualifications
- BS/BA or advanced degree in HCI, Library Science, Design, or related field
- 6+ years in UX; 2+ years in a digital-first agency or consultancy
- Strong portfolio showcasing UX work across multiple industries
- Experience with mobile/responsive design, design systems, and accessibility
- Proficient in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Optimal Workshop, Userlytics, and Microsoft Office
- Effective communicator and collaborative team player
- No travel required
Preferred
- Master’s in HCI or related field
- Background in taxonomy or digital asset management
- Experience with service or dialog design
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum
- Industry experience in Travel, Hospitality, Retail, or QSR
