We are seeking a Social Media Manager to support executives and developers show up on social media. In this role, you will help leaders across the studio engage authentically with the Minecraft community and the broader gaming industry.
Unlike traditional brand channel management, this position focuses on enabling real people executives and developers—to share their perspectives, connect with players and creators, and participate in meaningful community conversations.
You will partner closely with Marketing, Communications/PR, Community, and Game Development teams to ensure social activity aligns with major franchise moments while maintaining each individual’s authentic voice.
Key Responsibilities
• Support executives and developers in maintaining an authentic and community-focused presence on platforms such as X, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other relevant channels.
• Draft and edit social media posts in the voice of different leaders and developers, ensuring content is human, credible, and aligned with Mojang’s tone and values.
• Develop content ideas that highlight developer insights, creative processes, leadership perspectives, and behind-the-scenes storytelling.
• Manage posting cadence and coordinate content across multiple social platforms.
• Monitor community engagement and surface meaningful conversations, feedback, and sentiment to internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Marketing, PR, Community, and Development teams to align social activity with announcements and major franchise moments.
• Advise leaders on thoughtful community engagement while maintaining brand safety and professionalism.
• Contribute to social media reporting and qualitative insights to improve engagement strategies.
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience managing social media presence for executives, creators, developers, or high-visibility organizations.
• Exceptional knowledge of social platforms and online communities, including how conversations evolve across X, LinkedIn, Instagram, and community-driven spaces.
• Strong social copywriting skills with the ability to adapt tone and voice for different individuals and audiences.
• Experience interpreting engagement metrics, community sentiment, and feedback to provide actionable insights.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with Minecraft, Mojang Studios, or gaming and developer communities.
• Experience supporting social presence for gaming studios, publishers, or technology companies.
• Experience with social media tools such as Sprinklr or native platform analytics.
• Portfolio of social media writing samples for executives or developers.
