Job Title: Data Scientist – Simulation & Digital Twin
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist with strong expertise in simulation modeling, digital twins, and advanced optimization techniques. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Agent-Based Modeling (ABM), Discrete-Event Simulation (DES), and reinforcement learning (RL), along with exposure to high-fidelity 3D visualization platforms.
This role will focus on building intelligent simulation environments and digital twins to support data-driven decision-making and operational optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy simulation models using tools such as AnyLogic, FlexSim, or similar platforms.
- Build hybrid simulation systems combining Agent-Based Modeling (ABM) and Discrete-Event Simulation (DES) to solve complex real-world problems.
- Translate simulation outputs into actionable insights that influence operational and strategic decisions.
- Develop and integrate Reinforcement Learning (RL) agents within simulation environments to optimize processes and system performance.
- Create and maintain digital twin environments with synchronized simulation logic and 3D visualization layers.
- Work with platforms such as NVIDIA Omniverse (or similar) to build high-fidelity, real-time simulation visualizations.
- Ensure seamless synchronization between backend simulation engines (e.g., AnyLogic) and 3D visualization environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and product stakeholders to align simulation outputs with business goals.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience in simulation modeling using AnyLogic, FlexSim, or similar tools.
- Proven experience working on projects that combine ABM and DES, with the ability to clearly articulate:
- Use case and modeling approach
- Outputs generated
- Business or operational decisions influenced
- Hands-on experience integrating Reinforcement Learning (RL) agents into simulation environments.
- Solid programming skills in Python (or similar), with experience in data analysis and model development.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate complex systems into simulation models.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with NVIDIA Omniverse or similar high-fidelity 3D visualization platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to synchronize logic-based simulations (e.g., AnyLogic) with 3D digital twin environments.
- Experience building real-time or near real-time digital twins.
- Familiarity with APIs, middleware, or data pipelines connecting simulation engines and visualization platforms.
Portfolio Requirement
- Candidates are strongly encouraged to provide a portfolio, recorded demo, or walkthrough of:
- A 3D Digital Twin
- A simulation environment
- Or a hybrid simulation + visualization project
- This will be reviewed during the technical interview stage.
Nice to Have
- Experience in supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, or smart city simulations
- Knowledge of optimization techniques and stochastic modeling
- Exposure to cloud-based simulation environments
