Tradeaze operates as an on-demand delivery marketplace backed by a custom built Transportation Management System (TMS):

Courier Marketplace: Our core product that matches construction professionals with immediate transportation needs, connecting them to our network of specialised vehicles and drivers, taking a platform fee on fulfilment. Multiple web apps, mobile apps and integrations power the offering across all sides of the marketplace.
Transportation Management System (TMS): Our highly regarded platform that powers the courier marketplace, enabling efficient management of on-demand logistics through an intuitive interface enhanced by AI capabilities. The system allows the business to handle substantial delivery volumes with minimal headquarters staffing. Core features include route optimisation, automated customer support, driver recruitment and assignment, intelligent exception detection and resolution—creating numerous exciting technical challenges.

The technical opportunity

As one of our first engineers, you'll have unparalleled impact in enhancing our existing marketplace and developing our internal TMS:

AI-Powered Automation: Build conversational agents and image recognition systems that automate customer service and booking processes
Intelligent Marketplace Dynamics: Design real-time matching algorithms, connecting construction professionals with optimal providers
Scalable Architecture: Evolve our backend systems to handle thousands of simultaneous logistics operations
Multi-Platform Integration: Develop seamless connections with our specialised gig network, third-party logistics providers (Uber, Stuart, Gophr etc), and construction eCommerce and ERP systems

You'll work closely with the founders and smart engineering team to solve complex technical problems, while helping to build an exceptional engineering culture. You'll balance technical excellence with pragmatic delivery in a fast-moving startup environment.

What you’ll bring

5+ years of experience building full stack projects in startups
Deep expertise in TypeScript, React, Node.js, SQL, Cloud Services
Proven experience architecting production-grade systems that scale
A product-minded approach with an ability to identify what will really move the needle
Entrepreneurial spirit and comfort in a fast-moving startup environment
Ownership mentality, with an ability to turn business problems into technical tasks
Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience leading technically and mentoring other developers
Based in the United Kingdom

Bonus points for:

Experience with last mile / on-demand logistics, marketplaces, multi-tenant SaaS
React Native, AWS, DevOps, Data/Analytics Engineering, MLOps
Interest in logistics optimisation algorithms and constraint satisfaction problems

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: £75,000 - £95,000 (based on experience)
