Role
Purpose of the role:
- To plan and execute a programme of agile and highly targeted consumer marketing activity that will give Canadian consumers compelling reasons to visit the island of Ireland as a vacation destination. Deliver standout for the island of Ireland brand in a dynamic and competitive marketplace and drive visitor revenue growth, in line with agreed strategic objectives.
- To manage and execute Tourism Ireland’s consumer marketing activities in Canada, including paid advertising programmes, social media engagement, Ireland.com content and customer relationship management (CRM) campaigns.
Note: This role will involve some travel and work outside normal business hours.
Key Results Area
- Working in close collaboration with the Market Manager and collaborate with central brand and media teams to deliver Canada’s consumer marketing strategy, plan and implement integrated multi-channel marketing campaigns, focusing on targeted consumer segments and optimising investment across channel mix, to deliver visitors to the island of Ireland.
- Manage end-to-end relationships with appointed agency partners, aligning global and local strategies, timelines, and deliverables. Ensure clear communication and efficient workflows from briefing through execution and performance evaluation, while fostering collaboration and holding agencies accountable for results and deadlines.
- Monitor budgets, work scope, and KPIs to ensure effective and cost-efficient performance across all consumer marketing activities, organic and paid, to meet business objectives.
- Work closely with central teams to implement and optimise search and content campaigns and ensure full integration with all off-line activities, particularly PR and publicity.
- Collaborate with Market Manager and Business Partnerships Executive to activate and optimize digital marketing campaigns including co-op campaigns and managing the media execution of tactical programmes with key travel industry partners.
- Manage and execute Tourism Ireland’s digital marketing and CRM functions in conjunction with Tourism Ireland central teams, including email marketing programmes, management of website and databases as well as web-related promotional activity in Canada.
- Deliver and manage ireland.com content and collaborate with head-office and website teams to develop bespoke pages. Monitor and report on all aspects of ireland.com and gain insights from the Canadian analytics framework to inform marketing activities. Act as digital champion for the Canada market.
- Lead the planning and execution of bespoke advertising & digital content marketing campaign activity to target high value growth segments such as golf.
- Monitor and report on all digital activities. Track results to establish performance against agreed targets, optimise accordingly, collate final information, input into the organisation’s reporting tools and implement learnings for future campaigns.
- Such other duties as the company may from time to time reasonably require. This job will involve some travel and unsocial hours. The post holder will also represent Tourism Ireland at various industry, press and corporate functions and events.
The Person
The successful candidate will possess the following skills, experience and competencies.
Essential
- Educated to degree level with a qualification in business, marketing, communications or other relevant discipline.
- 3-5 years’ experience with a track record of achievement in developing, activating and monitoring performance driven integrated digital consumer advertising campaigns.
- Strong skills in digital communications, social media engagement and eCRM.
- High level of proficiency using various digital analytics frameworks, email platforms and CMS programmes such as Zeta and Sitecore.
- Strong data analytical and reporting skills.
- Relevant marketing communications and demonstrable experience in applying new and emerging technologies in consumer marketing campaigns
- Record of achievement of managing and building relationships with key partners and third-party agencies.
- Strong team player with a collaborative approach and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Flexible, with a positive attitude to change and dealing with competing demands.

- Editorial skills in writing for the web or social media.
- Knowledge of the island of Ireland and its tourism product.
