At Totalmobile, we’re transforming how organisations manage their workforce with cutting-edge mobile field service management solutions. As a Software Engineer in Test, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our innovative software products. You’ll help develop robust test frameworks, create automated test suites, and continuously improve our testing processes to support our growing product suite.
We are the UK leader in field service management software, offering an integrated product suite that has grown through organic development and strategic acquisitions. As one of the fastest-growing software houses in the UK, we’re expanding our client base both domestically and internationally. To maintain the highest standards for our mobile applications, we’ve established a central automation testing team to strengthen our test coverage across different products.
We are looking for a Software Engineer in Test with experience in both functional and non-functional testing. Ideally, you’ll have a strong background in Java/C#, Selenium automation frameworks, and performance testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for designing and implementing test structures, abstraction layers, and Gherkin syntax, ensuring clear and comprehensive test execution results. Your contributions will enable the team to expand automated test coverage efficiently using reusable steps, ultimately enhancing product quality. Additionally, you’ll help build and maintain performance test harnesses to ensure our systems scale effectively.
Skills and Experience
We’re looking for candidates with at least three years of experience in automation testing, particularly with tools and techniques for both functional and non-functional testing. A strong understanding of Java or C# and proficiency in Selenium-based frameworks are essential. You will also need experience with Performance Testing using Jmeter or Gatling.
Experience with performance testing frameworks, API testing tools like Postman, network profiling tools, and SQL for database validation would be highly beneficial. A solid grasp of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and the ability to strategically implement test automation to improve team productivity and product quality are also key requirements.
At Totalmobile, we want our employees to feel valued, appreciated, and free to be who they are at work. We are committed to an inclusive workforce representing many different cultures, backgrounds and viewpoints. We are dedicated to supporting inclusion and diversity at Totalmobile. We actively celebrate colleagues’ different abilities, sexual orientation, ethnicity, faith, and gender. Everyone is welcome and supported in their development at all stages of their journey with us.
