## About the Role

Think Tank is hiring a UI/UX Developer to lead user-centered design efforts for enterprise applications. The role combines UX research, interaction design, visual design, prototyping, and front-end development.

The selected candidate will transform complex business workflows into intuitive and efficient user experiences while ensuring accessibility, usability, responsive behavior, and visual consistency across applications.

This position requires close collaboration with developers, business stakeholders, and technical teams to ensure designs are implemented accurately and meet applicable accessibility standards.

The position is remote but includes occasional travel to an onsite location in Brooklyn, New York. Candidates who live within reasonable travel distance are preferred.

## Key Responsibilities

• Conduct user experience research and requirements discovery.

• Conduct stakeholder interviews and usability assessments.

• Analyze user needs and translate findings into practical design solutions.

• Develop user journeys and storyboards.

• Create wireframes, prototypes, and UI mockups.

• Design responsive and accessible application interfaces.

• Apply DOE technical and branding standards to front-end designs.

• Translate complex business processes and workflows into intuitive user experiences.

• Create UI assets using Sketch, InVision, Adobe XD, or equivalent design tools.

• Collaborate with developers during implementation.

• Ensure accurate and high-quality implementation of UI/UX designs.

• Apply accessibility principles throughout the design and development lifecycle.

• Support compliance with WCAG and ADA requirements.

• Participate in Agile sprints and design reviews.

• Contribute to solution workshops and collaborative planning sessions.

• Conduct usability testing.

• Analyze feedback and support iterative improvements to application experiences.

## Required Skills and Experience

Candidates should have:

• 8+ years of UI/UX design and development experience in enterprise technology environments.

• Deep understanding of responsive web design.

• Strong knowledge of interaction design principles.

• Experience with front-end engineering best practices.

• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.

• Experience with Sketch, InVision, Adobe XD, or comparable UI/UX tools.

• Experience developing application prototypes.

• Strong understanding of Human-Centered Design principles.

• Experience designing solutions that follow WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards.

• Understanding of ADA accessibility requirements.

• Experience working in Agile and/or DevOps environments.

• Strong design-thinking skills.

• Excellent visual design abilities.

• Ability to translate business requirements into intuitive interfaces.

## User-Centered Design

A major focus of this role is Human-Centered Design. The UI/UX Developer will be expected to understand user needs before designing solutions rather than simply translating requirements into visual layouts.

The process may include:

1. Researching user needs and business requirements.

2. Identifying workflow challenges and usability issues.

3. Mapping user journeys and application interactions.

4. Creating wireframes and prototypes.

5. Testing designs with users and stakeholders.

The developer should have practical knowledge of WCAG 2.1 and be capable of incorporating accessibility considerations into interface structure, navigation, content presentation, and interaction design.

Responsive design is also essential, requiring interfaces to function effectively across different screen sizes and devices.

## Agile and Team Collaboration

The UI/UX Developer will work within collaborative Agile and DevOps environments.

Responsibilities may involve participating in:

• Agile sprints.

• Design reviews.

• Solution workshops.

## Work Authorization and Travel
