About the Role

We’re looking for a UX Engineer to collaborate across design and development teams, helping to build, evolve, and support our core design systems. You’ll work closely with front-end developers and designers to create efficient, elegant, and scalable user interfaces while ensuring consistency across multiple applications and tech stacks.

This role blends front-end engineering, design thinking, and user experience strategy — ideal for someone who can bridge creativity with technical execution and influence best practices across teams.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (designers, engineers, architects) to build and maintain high-quality front-end components.
  • Develop and extend design systems that ensure consistency, accessibility, and scalability across products.
  • Partner with adopters across the organization to drive adoption and proper use of design system components.
  • Evangelize best practices in UI engineering, front-end architecture, and design system integration.
  • Build interactive prototypes for user testing, research, and stakeholder presentations.
  • Balance design goals with technical constraints to deliver elegant, maintainable front-end solutions.
  • Contribute to evolving front-end technology strategies, staying current with Angular 2+, React, and emerging trends.
  • Evaluate new tools and frameworks, making recommendations to improve design system development and adoption.
  • Ensure accessibility, responsiveness, and internationalization in all UI implementations.
  • Create and maintain thorough documentation of components, guidelines, and workflows.

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Design, or equivalent experience.
  • 4–6 years of experience in front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for complex software applications.
  • Proficiency in Angular 2+; experience with React is a plus.
  • Experience developing and maintaining design systems and UI component libraries.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design and design thinking methodologies.
  • Experience prototyping and collaborating with UX researchers and designers.
  • Solid understanding of accessibility standards, internationalization, and responsive design.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills — able to simplify complex topics for diverse audiences.
  • Strong collaboration skills, especially in geographically distributed teams.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with highly interactive applications (web, mobile, or desktop).
  • Familiarity with UX tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
  • Exposure to user research processes and usability testing.
  • Background in enterprise-scale software systems or control interfaces.

While we may not be able to respond to every applicant, your profile will remain in the Torc talent community, giving you access to future opportunities, events, and resources to grow your career.
