Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Software Engineer with deep expertise in OBD2, UDS, and vehicle diagnostic communication protocols. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing communication layers, integrating Bluetooth-enabled adapters, and ensuring seamless interaction between mobile applications and embedded automotive systems. Candidates with experience in automotive OEMs or diagnostic tool companies are highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize software modules for OBD2 and UDS communication.
- Implement and test ISO 14229 (UDS) and ISO 15765 (CAN) communication stacks.
- Design and integrate communication layers for Android and iOS mobile applications.
- Work with Bluetooth/BLE to integrate external adapters and ensure reliable data exchange.
- Build and refine diagnostic features, protocol handlers, and data parsers.
- Troubleshoot communication issues between vehicle ECUs, mobile apps, and hardware adapters.
- Collaborate with embedded engineers, mobile developers, and automotive domain experts.
- Ensure compliance with automotive standards and best practices.
- Conduct performance testing, debugging, and protocol-level validation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience in OBD2, UDS, CAN communication, and automotive diagnostic protocols.
- Proficiency in C/C++ or Rust for embedded systems development.
- Hands-on experience with Bluetooth LE integration and protocol handling.
- Knowledge of ISO 14229 (UDS), ISO 15765 (CAN), and related automotive communication standards.
- Experience integrating with Android/iOS applications for automotive use cases.
- Background in automotive OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, or diagnostic tool companies is highly desirable.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and performance optimization skills.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams and handle complex technical challenges.
