TIAG is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to develop HMI screens and SCADA applications for the AFHE modernization project at Pituffik Space Force Base, Greenland. The CSE will create operator interfaces, implement control logic, and configure SCADA databases using Aveva System Platform.
This position is remote with travel to North Charleston, SC and Pituffik SFB, Greenland, up to 50% of the time. A valid passport and active Secret security clearance is required for consideration.
Duties & Responsibilities
Develop HMI screens using Aveva InTouch and ArchestrA graphics
Create tank overview, pump control, valve lineup, and pipeline animation screens
Implement alarm management, trending, and reporting displays
Configure ArchestrA objects (Device Integrator, tank templates, pump templates)
Develop screen navigation, pop-ups, and context-sensitive help systems
Create color-coded pipeline animations with real-time flow indication
Configure alarm priorities, acknowledgment logic, and notification schemes
Implement user security, role-based access, and audit trails
Develop SQL queries for custom reports and inventory management
Configure Aveva Historian for data logging and retrieval
Create faceplates for valve control, pump operations, and meter displays
Test HMI functionality during PITCO and support onsite integration
Update SCADA applications based on site feedback and operational requirements
Document screen designs, tag lists, and application configurations
US Citizenship required
BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years SCADA development experience
3+ years with Aveva InTouch and ArchestrA development
Strong HMI design and user interface development skills
Experience with SQL Server and database configuration
Knowledge of industrial instrumentation and process control
Familiarity with VBA, .NET scripting, or ArchestrA scripting
Understanding of alarm management philosophies (ISA-18.2)
Travel to Pituffik SFB, Greenland (multiple 2-4 week trips)
Strong attention to detail and a user-centered design approach
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
