About this role
We're looking for a Senior Product Designer who is an expert in UI and design systems to take ownership of our visual language and user experience. This is a critical role for someone who is as passionate about building scalable, elegant systems as they are about shipping beautiful, intuitive interfaces. You will be a key voice in our design practice, working directly with clients and internal teams to solve complex problems and deliver high-quality work.
What will this role do?
- Own the Design System: Lead the design and governance of our client’s design systems. You will be responsible for building and scaling component libraries into full design systems to ensure consistency and efficiency across all products.
- Execute on Product Design: Drive the end-to-end design process for key product features, from initial concepts and user flows to high-fidelity, production-ready UI mockups and prototypes.
- Lead Client Engagements: Act as the design lead in client-facing interactions. You will facilitate discovery workshops, present design concepts, and confidently articulate the rationale behind your decisions to client stakeholders.
- Articulate and Defend Your Work: Clearly communicate design strategy and decisions to cross-functional partners, including Product Managers, Engineers, and leadership. You are expected to provide and receive feedback with a high degree of professionalism.
- Collaborate for Quality: Work in a tight, collaborative loop with engineering to ensure your design vision is implemented to the highest standard, understanding technical constraints and opportunities.
- Uphold the Craft: Champion design best practices within the company and contribute to a culture of design excellence. Mentor other team members where appropriate.
What do you need for this role?
- Experience: You have 5+ years of experience as a Product Designer or UX Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work on complex, shipped products.
- Digital Product Company and Agency/Consulting Background: You have direct experience working in-house at a product-led technology company, and consulting or working at an agency.
- Design Systems Experience: Your portfolio demonstrates undeniable expertise in creating, maintaining, and scaling a design system. You must be able to speak in detail about the challenges and successes of this process.
- Exceptional UI Craft: You possess a deep understanding of visual hierarchy, typography, layout, and atomic design principles with a meticulous eye for detail.
- Proven Client-Facing Skills: You are a confident presenter and facilitator, comfortable leading meetings and workshops with senior-level client stakeholders. You don't just present designs; you build consensus and guide partners to the best solution.
- Master Communicator: You have an exceptional ability to articulate the "why" behind your design decisions, using a combination of design principles, data, and user insights.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Familiarity with front-end development concepts (HTML, CSS, component-based frameworks like React).
- Experience conducting and synthesizing user research.
