Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager to lead the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing scopes on complex data center construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing MEP systems on mission-critical facilities, working for or with a general contractor, and delivering high-performance environments on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all MEP activities from preconstruction through project close-out for large-scale data center projects.
- Oversee coordination, installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Collaborate with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Lead MEP scope development, value engineering, cost control, and scheduling in preconstruction phase.
- Review and approve technical submittals, shop drawings, and equipment procurement.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, safety standards, and QA/QC procedures.
- Interface with commissioning agents and facilitate startup and turnover of MEP systems.
- Track and manage RFIs, change orders, inspections, and punch lists specific to MEP scopes.
- Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to avoid delays and cost overruns.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation, reports, and communication for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience managing MEP scopes on complex construction projects (preferably data centers or mission-critical facilities).
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, fire protection, plumbing, BMS, and UPS systems.
- Proven experience working for or with a general contractor on large commercial projects.
- Familiarity with commissioning processes, QA/QC protocols, and LEED or sustainable design practices.
- Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project).
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel to project sites as required.
Preferred:
- PE license or PMP certification is a plus.
- Prior experience with hyperscale data centers or colocation providers.
- OSHA 30 Certification.
