_Think Company operates in the United States as a remote-first company, with potential for as-needed travel associated to client needs. As such, please consider this a remote (work from home) position. Please note that Thinkers are expected to operate within Eastern Standard Time Zone business hours.

_Think Company is looking for a contract-based Senior UX Designer that can drive the design of complex features with little to no oversight. As the sole designer for this product team, you should be well-versed in all aspects of experience design and comfortable navigating ambiguity and establishing relationships with clients. You will drive the creation of intuitive solutions for our client’s digital product lines, identifying design requirements and transforming ideas into a concrete UI with a polished aesthetic leveraging an existing design system.

You will bring a strong perspective on design direction while also blending and balancing business goals with customer goals. You’ll be positioned to become a trusted design consultant with multi-disciplinary counterparts and stakeholders.

If you enjoy working autonomously and owning designs from conception to visual QA, you may be our ideal candidate. In applying for this job, you should have a firm grounding in foundational interaction design principles, portfolio pieces demonstrating your ability to design for complex systems, and an innate interest in shaping our connected world.

What You’d Do

  • Start each workday with an 8:30AM EST standup to provide design input and work status to the broader product
  • Manage your time to balance meetings and design priorities effectively
  • Serve as a primary point of contact and valued design consultant for our client
  • Lead the creation of polished and usable interactive prototypes (using tools like Figma, etc.) to communicate solutions to complex product design challenges
  • Maintain and build upon a scalable and comprehensive design system specific to the client’s product
  • Work closely with the development team to ensure ideas can be brought to life
  • Define problems and solve them using an evidence-based rationale
  • Synthesize research findings to develop a coherent project strategy
  • Collaborate closely with your project teams and clients to create compelling design solutions for complex products or systems
  • Think through UX challenges and create UI solutions that stand up to rigorous testing
  • Stay up to date on current themes, trends, and technologies in user interface and experience design

What You Bring

  • At least 4 years of professional experience where you've shown a deep passion and ability to design useful experiences
  • Ability to be highly autonomous and work with little to no oversight
  • Top-notch client consulting skills, including the ability to present and defend ideas, formulate a case for an initiative, and quickly build trust as an advisor
  • Experience partnering with a development team to align on designs that are both technically feasible and improve the user experience
  • Evidence that you can extend, maintain, and champion a coherent digital product design system
  • Experience designing for complex systems or applications on multiple platforms, including mobile
  • Pride in communicating your design ideas and process clearly to clients and stakeholders
  • Mastery of your design tools—apps and techniques alike
  • A solid understanding of front-end development, back-end systems, APIs and technology
  • Familiarity with designing for accessibility and a desire to build these skills
  • Comfort establishing and maintaining relationships with co-workers and clients

Bonus Points

  • A working knowledge of business analysis, agile methodologies, and product strategy
  • A working knowledge of research principles and activities, including user research methods, comparative/competitive analysis, persona creation, etc.
  • Experience in the telecommunications industry
