Job Title: Senior Full Stack Engineer (No c2c)

JOB DESCRIPTION: Theoris is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to support a major internal software development initiative. This role focuses on backend engineering, cloud-native development, data-driven systems, and modern DevOps practices. The ideal candidate has deep Python expertise, strong experience building scalable applications on AWS, and familiarity with modern frontend and AI/ML technologies. This is an opportunity to join a high-impact engineering team building reliable, secure, and high‑performance systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, develop, and maintain Python-based backend services and REST APIs using FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
- Build and deploy applications across AWS services including Lambda, EC2, ECS/Fargate, and EKS.
- Implement event-driven and distributed architectures using SQS, SNS, EventBridge, and Kinesis.
- Design secure, scalable infrastructure using AWS networking, IAM, VPCs, subnets, load balancers, and CloudFront.
- Develop and optimize relational database schemas and queries, primarily with PostgreSQL.
- Create and maintain ETL pipelines and data workflows using Pandas, Glue, and Athena.
- Containerize applications with Docker, and manage deployments using Kubernetes or ECS.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or AWS CodePipeline/CodeBuild.
- Implement observability best practices using CloudWatch, Datadog, or OpenTelemetry.
- Collaborate with product, data, and platform teams to deliver high‑quality engineering solutions.
- (Optional) Integrate AI/LLM capabilities using OpenAI, Bedrock, Anthropic, and vector databases such as Pinecone or pgvector.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Experience with FastAPI (preferred), Flask, or Django
- Testing experience using pytest (unit, integration, mocking, coverage)
- Compute: Lambda, EC2, ECS (Fargate), EKS
- Storage: S3, EFS
- Databases: RDS (PostgreSQL/MySQL), DynamoDB, ElastiCache (Redis)
- Networking: VPC, subnets, NAT, ALB/NLB, Route 53, CloudFront
- Messaging: SQS, SNS, EventBridge, Kinesis
- Security: IAM, Secrets Manager, KMS, WAF
- IaC Tools: AWS CDK (Python), CloudFormation, SAM
- Monitoring: CloudWatch, X‑Ray, AWS Config
- Experience with TypeScript + React or Next.js
- State management using Redux, Zustand, or React Query
- REST or GraphQL API integration
- Strong SQL experience with PostgreSQL, including performance tuning and query optimization
- Experience with ETL workflows, Pandas, Glue, Athena
- Docker (multi-stage builds, docker‑compose)
- Deployment experience with Kubernetes or ECS
- CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or AWS CodePipeline/CodeBuild
- Observability using CloudWatch, Datadog, or OpenTelemetry
- Strong Git workflow experience (trunk-based, PR reviews, branching strategies)
- Experience integrating LLM APIs: OpenAI, Anthropic, Bedrock
- Familiarity with vector search technologies: Pinecone, OpenSearch, pgvector
