Senior Software Engineer - Enterprise AI

About The Role

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to build production-grade AI products for enterprise procurement teams. This is a remote, full-time engineering role for someone who enjoys owning backend systems, agentic workflows, data pipelines, and integrations that solve real business problems at scale.

You will work closely with product, design, and customer-facing teams to turn ambiguous procurement workflows into reliable software. The ideal candidate has strong backend fundamentals, practical experience building AI-first products, and comfort working across APIs, large language model orchestration, scraping, document/data extraction, and enterprise-grade reliability requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services that power enterprise AI workflows for sourcing, negotiation, procurement, vendor intelligence, and related business processes.
• Develop multi-agent systems that can reason over structured and unstructured data, coordinate tools, call APIs, and complete complex workflow steps reliably.
• Build scalable scraping, crawling, data ingestion, and enrichment pipelines with strong attention to data quality, observability, retries, and error handling.
• Integrate LLMs and AI models into production systems using robust prompt orchestration, evaluation, guardrails, tracing, and feedback loops.
• Own APIs, services, queues, databases, and background jobs from design through deployment, monitoring, and ongoing improvement.
• Collaborate with product managers and domain experts to translate procurement workflows into clear technical requirements and measurable product outcomes.
• Improve system performance, security, reliability, and maintainability as the platform scales across enterprise customers.
• Review code, mentor engineers where appropriate, and raise the engineering bar through pragmatic architecture and clean implementation.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong backend product engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience building enterprise AI products, AI agents, LLM-enabled workflows, automation platforms, or intelligent data products.
• Strong backend engineering skills with APIs, databases, asynchronous jobs, cloud services, distributed systems, and production debugging.
• Experience with multi-agent systems, tool use, scraping, crawling, data extraction, or workflow automation is highly valuable.
• Ability to work independently in a remote team, communicate clearly, and make thoughtful engineering tradeoffs.
• Strong product sense and comfort working in fast-moving environments where requirements evolve quickly.
• Comfort building secure, maintainable systems for business users, including thoughtful API design, clear logs, practical monitoring, and clean handoffs between services.
• Ability to break down complex product ideas into shippable milestones while keeping reliability, data privacy, and user trust in view.

Good to have

• Experience in procurement, sourcing, vendor management, contract intelligence, supply chain, or enterprise SaaS.
• Familiarity with evaluation frameworks, RAG systems, vector search, knowledge graphs, or AI observability tools.
• Experience building systems that handle sensitive enterprise data with strong security and access-control practices.
• Experience collaborating with customer-facing teams to understand enterprise workflows, diagnose implementation blockers, and convert feedback into durable product improvements.
