Mid-Level Software Engineer – Big Data & AI-Driven Engineering

We’re partnering with a global leader in Big Data & Analytics that’s redefining how enterprise data platforms are built and scaled. With strong global growth and increasing demand for their solutions, they’re expanding their engineering team and looking for high-calibre Mid-Level Software Engineers to join the journey.

This isn’t a rigid “must-have this exact stack” role. The team leverages modern AI tools across development workflows and works across multiple technologies. What matters most is strong engineering fundamentals and a genuine interest in working with technologies like Scala and Apache Spark in large-scale Data & Software environments.

The Opportunity

As a Mid-Level Engineer, you’ll:

• Design and build scalable, high-performance software in a collaborative Agile environment
• Contribute to a globally distributed Big Data platform
• Work on distributed systems and data-intensive applications
• Build and optimise data pipelines and processing workflows
• Contribute to architecture discussions and technical decision-making
• Embrace AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and quality
• Continuously learn and deepen your expertise in technologies such as Scala, Spark, and modern data frameworks

What We’re Looking For

• 3–6 years’ experience in software engineering
• Strong computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, system design)
• Experience building production-grade applications (language-agnostic)
• Exposure to distributed systems or data-heavy applications
• Interest in Big Data technologies such as Scala and Spark (prior experience is beneficial but not essential)
• Curiosity around AI tooling and modern engineering workflows
• A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills
