Job Description
The Marketing & Events Lead is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive event strategy that elevates brand authority, strengthens client engagement, and drives measurable pipeline impact. This role owns the full lifecycle of VERTEX’s event presence—from strategic planning through post-event activation—ensuring every event is integrated into broader campaigns and content initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a strategic and operational leader who can design event-driven campaigns while ensuring flawless execution across a portfolio of industry conferences, proprietary programs, and executive engagements.
Core Responsibilities
Event Strategy & Portfolio Management
Develop and lead a tiered event strategy aligned to corporate priorities and business unit growth objectives.
Own the planning and execution of:
Industry conferences and trade shows
Sponsorships and speaking engagements
Proprietary executive roundtables and client programs
Webinars and virtual events
Regional and field marketing activations
Evaluate event participation through a strategic lens, ensuring each investment supports defined goals such as pipeline generation, executive or firm visibility, strategic account penetration, or market expansion.
Event-Led Campaign Development
Ensure all events are supported by structured, integrated campaign plans.
Develop and oversee:
Pre-event targeting and outreach strategies (in partnership with Sales)
Event-specific messaging and positioning
Coordinated email, digital, and social promotion
Executive visibility plans
Content drops tied to event themes
Post-event follow-up and nurture workflows
Shift event participation from standalone activations to campaign-driven programs with defined pipeline objectives.
Content Strategy Around Events
Partner with marketing and subject matter experts to develop event-aligned content, including:
Thought leadership articles and whitepapers
Speaking abstracts and presentation materials
Event-specific landing pages
Social and digital amplification content
On-site messaging and experiential materials
Post-event recap and follow-up content
Ensure event messaging reinforces VERTEX’s positioning as an integrated advisory and disputes firm operating in high-stakes environments.
Pipeline Impact & Performance Measurement
Define KPIs and reporting frameworks to measure:
Event-sourced and influenced pipeline
Account engagement and executive meetings
ROI by event tier
Audience growth and brand visibility
Conversion from event engagement to opportunity
Partner with Sales and Business Development to ensure structured follow-up and measurable pipeline progression.

A new hire’s starting compensation is determined by their experience, geographical location, scope of the role at the time of hire, and Company affordability. Our ranges are structured to reward growth and performance, ensuring there is room for advancement and long-term opportunity.
The salary ranges for this role are as follows:
$109,000 - $296,000 USD annually (Geographical Tier AA - Sample Locations: NY Metro, San Franscisco, San Jose, Seattle)
$101,000 - $274,000 USD annually (Geographical Tier A - Sample Locations: Irvine CA, Middlesex NJ, Tacoma WA, Boston, Alexandria)
$92,000 - $251,000 USD annually (Geographical Tier B - Sample Locations - Baltimore, Chicago, Anchorage, Portland)
$84,000 - $228,000 USD annually (Geographical Tier C - Sample Locations - Atlanta, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Miami)
$80,000 - $217,000 USD annually (Geographical Tier D - Sample Locations - Mississippi, Mobile AL, Bowling Green KY, Tulsa)
