Reports to the CMO

Early-stage Recruiting start-up is looking for a VP of Marketing to join our founding team.

The Recruiting Squad is positioned to disrupt the 207 billion US Staffing Industry and we are looking for an experienced, dynamic VP of Marketing with a proven track record in the Staffing and/or Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) industry to join our leadership team.

Our flexible hiring platform and unique pay-as-you-go model allows small, medium-sized businesses and start-ups to fill direct hire, contract and contract-to-hire positions for a fraction of what staffing agencies charge.

We are looking for a VP of Marketing that has demonstrated success marketing products/services to small & medium-sized businesses. Must have the desire to work at a boot-strap start-up and be a one person band.

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and execute go-to-market (GTM) strategies for new products/features.
  • Own product positioning and messaging to ensure market differentiation.
  • Lead competitive analysis and market research.
  • Develop and evolve customer segmentation and targeting strategies.

Customer & Market Insight

  • Serve as the voice of the customer internally.
  • Conduct and analyze user research, interviews, and feedback.
  • Define and refine buyer personas and user journeys.

Product Launch Management

  • Plan and lead cross-functional product launches.
  • Ensure alignment between product, marketing, sales, and customer success teams.
  • Develop comprehensive launch materials and communication plans.

Sales Enablement

  • Create sales tools (battlecards, pitch decks, ROI calculators, objection handling guides).
  • Train and support the sales team on product positioning and messaging.
  • Collaborate on win/loss analysis and sales feedback loops.

Content Strategy & Development

  • Drive creation of product-focused content (case studies, blog posts, whitepapers, videos).
  • Ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
  • Collaborate with demand gen and brand teams for integrated campaigns.

Revenue Growth & Sales Alignment

  • Partner with sales to influence pipeline growth and conversion rates.
  • Align with demand generation on campaigns tied to product features and launches.
  • Improve product adoption and reduce churn through targeted messaging.

Performance Measurement

  • Define and track KPIs (product adoption, win/loss rates, MQL-to-SQL conversion, NPS).
  • Use analytics to optimize messaging and campaign performance.
  • Report on the impact of product marketing initiatives.

Team Leadership

  • Hire, develop, and lead the product marketing team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, experimentation, and customer focus.
  • Set team goals and performance metrics aligned with company objectives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product Management, Sales, Customer Success, and Demand Gen.
  • Influence product roadmap with market and customer insights.
  • Ensure consistent communication across teams during launches and campaigns.
