Senior Back End Developer

Overview:

The Senior Developer will design, build, and maintain high-quality technology solutions while delivering an exceptional customer experience. Working as an integral part of an Agile development team, you will collaborate closely with Project Lead, Product Owners and fellow team members to translate user stories and functional requirements into resilient, secure, and production-ready application code.

Design & Development:

• Architect and implement solutions primarily using Golang, with good exposure to Python for complementary tasks.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs that ensure scalability, security, and performance.

Testing & Quality Assurance:

• Develop and maintain comprehensive Unit, Integration, and Performance tests.
• Ensure code quality and robustness with thorough testing practices.

Collaboration & Agile Practices:

• Work closely within an Agile team environment, contributing to planning, reviews, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical feasibility and effective delivery of product features.

Application Design:

• Contribute to application design discussions, providing innovative ideas and solutions.
• Evaluate and integrate best practices in software architecture to enhance overall system design.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Translate user stories and functional requirements into resilient & secure technical designs
• Design, build and maintain high quality technology solutions that deliver an exceptional customer experience
• Ensure application SLAs are met by employing appropriate monitoring and alerting tools as required by each supported application.
• Work with development leads to assist in developing overall application technology design activities; assist with the identification and definition of key architectures, components and interfaces, design of data model and data/information flows
• Work with Product Owner to help prioritize development activities and estimate level of effort
• Focus on professional development through our wide array of learning opportunities for continued growth within the team

Education & Experience:

• Level of Formal Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
• Area of Study: Computer Science or Engineering discipline; Graduate degree preferred
• Years of Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
• Type of Experience: development using Golang, Python, or similar languages.
• Technical Competencies:
• Java EE and/or Golang
• Spring, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Vertx, GraphQL
• Git
• Ability to create unit tests, performance and integration tests (jUnit, jMeter/k6 & Postman/Newman)
• Kubernetes and/or Docker
• NoSQL DB (ie. Couchbase / MongoDB / Elastic)
• RDBMS (ie. MySQL / PostgreSQL / MS SQL Server / Oracle)
• HTTP
• Linux/Unix basics
• Proficiency in Golang with a solid track record in developing complex applications.
• Good exposure to Python for tasks involving scripting and automation.
• Familiarity with at least one public Cloud platform.
• Exposure to application containerization technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
• Other/Preferred:
• Tomcat, Netty, Jetty, JBoss, Nginx a plus
• Familiarity with any of the following is a plus: Shell scripting, Python, Nodejs, Oauth, JWT, EKS, GKE, AKS

Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule: The salary range for this role is $75,500/year to $117,950/year, however all state and local minimum wages will be complied with, resulting in a possible adjustment to the salary range displayed.
