Senior Java Software Engineer

My client is a modern payment solutions provider offers tools that streamline transactions across both in-person and remote environments. Focused on improving efficiency, the platform helps reduce manual tasks, digitize records, and integrate with existing systems to support smoother operations.

Responsibilities Overview:

• Lead and manage cross-functional projects, ensuring visibility, clear documentation, and progress tracking.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure operational readiness and audit compliance for new features.
• Guide technical planning, architecture documentation, and long-term roadmap development.
• Ensure standards compliance and completion of necessary certifications.
• Break down large initiatives into manageable tasks and maintain ticket clarity and implementation feasibility.
• Drive agile development, ensuring timely delivery, testing, and quality assurance.
• Lead root cause analysis for issues and define key performance and reliability metrics.
• Maintain momentum through code reviews, team check-ins, and unblock issues proactively.
• Provide mentorship and guidance through design and implementation reviews.

Qualifications Summary:

• Background in computer science or equivalent industry experience.
• Extensive experience in Java-based development and deployment, with strong testing practices.
• Proven track record in payment systems development, including transaction processing and risk management.
• Deep understanding of industry compliance standards and security protocols.
• Skilled in designing scalable, secure, and resilient systems.
• Proficient with relational databases, Unix-based systems, and monitoring tools.
• Demonstrated leadership in software engineering teams with a focus on agile methodologies.
• Experienced in API integration and rigorous quality assurance practices.
• Expereince with Javscript or Angular development is a plus.
