Chemours is seeking a Senior Full-Stack AI Developer to join our growing AI & Data Science team. This HYBRID position will be available in Wilmington, DE and will report directly to the Head of Data Science & AI. For the right candidate, we may consider remote; however, candidates must be able to accommodate Eastern Time working hours.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced full stack software engineer with a proven track record of designing, building, and deploying production-grade applications, including Generative AI solutions used by real users.

Successful candidates will thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and demonstrate a continuous learning mindset. This role requires hands-on ownership of end-to-end delivery (architecture through production) and frequent engagement with stakeholders and end users throughout the build process.

This is not a research-only role, candidates should have experience shipping solutions that deliver measurable business value.

Responsibilities

  • Design, architect, implement, and productionize full-stack applications across traditional software and Generative AI use cases
  • Partner with users and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into intuitive, high-quality solutions
  • Lead high-impact initiatives across multiple business functions, including Manufacturing, Legal, Finance, R&D, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Sales
  • Identify, design, and integrate Generative AI solutions into existing workflows with a focus on practical application and measurable ROI
  • Own product direction for assigned solutions, including roadmap definition, backlog prioritization, and release planning
  • Mentor and accelerate the work of junior developers; foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across the team
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Data Engineering, Office 365) to navigate approvals, architecture reviews, and governance requirements
  • Address technical debt and build scalable, reusable architectures that are well-documented and aligned with security and compliance standards
  • Organize and lead user workshops to identify high-value use cases and prioritize development efforts
  • Manage the full lifecycle of deployed applications, including debugging, enhancements, upgrades, and continuous improvement driven by user feedback

Success in this role is measured by

  • Volume and speed of production-ready, high-ROI applications delivered
  • Quality of user experience and code (as measured by adoption, feedback, and business impact)
  • Efficiency in development and long-term maintainability of solutions
  • Reusability and scalability of architectures across multiple use cases
  • Contribution to overall team performance through mentoring, collaboration, and technical leadership

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 7+ years building and deploying enterprise-grade applications in production environments
  • Demonstrated experience delivering at least one production GenAI or LLM-based solution used by end users
  • 5+ years backend development with Python and JavaScript
  • 4+ years frontend development with React.js, TypeScript, and modern web technologies
  • Experience working within Microsoft Azure environments (e.g., Azure AI, Fabric, cloud services)
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience driving solutions from concept through deployment in ambiguous environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing and deploying Copilot Studio or multi-agent GenAI solutions
  • Experience with PyTorch, including model fine-tuning and performance iteration
  • Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines for AI and software systems
  • Experience with Azure Kubernetes or containerized deployments
  • Knowledge graph design and ontology development (e.g., Neo4j, Fabric IQ)
  • Ability to evaluate and apply emerging AI technologies in production environments
