Software Engineer

Job Title: Software Engineer – Internal AI Platform (Contract)

Type: Full-time Contract (40 hrs/week)

Start: Targeting June 16, 2025

Location: Remote (U.S.-based)

Compensation: up to $70/hr DOE

We’re supporting a global cloud platform in hiring a Software Engineer to help build an internal AI-powered tool that improves the performance review experience for managers and employees. This is a 0→1 build with real impact — aimed at saving thousands of hours annually by integrating with internal systems like Workday and streamlining how feedback is summarized and used.

What You’ll Actually Be Doing

• Build a LLM-powered product that integrates with Workday and internal APIs
• Recommend and implement tech stack decisions
• Design and maintain frontend components using React/TypeScript
• Own backend engineering work in Python/FastAPI/Postgres
• Partner with AI/ML teams to deliver performance insights and feedback summaries
• Configure dashboards and automate workflows in Jira or Asana
• Ensure accessibility and design consistency through internal UI libraries

Must-Haves (Don’t Apply Without These)

• Proven backend experience with Python, APIs, and system integrations
• Strong knowledge of React/TypeScript and building modern UIs
• Familiar with Workday or similar HRIS tools
• Experience deploying on AWS (Elastic Beanstalk, RDS)
• Solid communication skills and ability to operate across cross-functional teams
• Comfortable in agile sprint environments

You’ll Stand Out If You…

• Have worked with OpenAI APIs or LLM integrations (ChatGPT, LlamaIndex)
• Have supported people enablement or internal tooling initiatives
• Know your way around Workday APIs or similar enterprise systems
• Think cleanly about system design, automation, and internal UX

This is a 40-hour/week contract through February 2026, with potential for extension based on fit and business need.
