Job Title: Senior Software Engineer – AI, Slackbot, AWS
Type: Freelance, 40 hrs/week
Start: July 1, 2025
Length: 6-month contract (through December 31, 2025)
Location: Remote (U.S. only)
Compensation: Up to $80/hr
A fast-growing team is seeking a sharp, forward-thinking Senior Software Engineer to lead the development of AI-driven tools, Slackbot integrations, and AWS infrastructure. This is a strategic build role focused on automation, scale, and impact across business operations.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Architect and implement advanced AI/ML models and automation workflows
- Build, test, and maintain custom Slackbots that integrate with internal platforms
- Own AWS setup and optimization (EC2, Lambda, S3, etc.)
- Partner with data scientists, DevOps, and business leaders to translate needs into scalable tech
- Script and automate deployments, infrastructure, and system monitoring
- Maintain and evolve CI/CD pipelines and development processes
- Continuously improve system performance and reliability
- Stay sharp on new trends in AI, Python, and cloud technologies
Must-Haves (Don’t Apply Without These)
- 5+ years of Python-focused software engineering experience
- Strong command of AI/ML models, NLP, and predictive analytics
- Proven track record building Slackbots using Slack APIs
- Deep experience with AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3, CloudFormation)
- Strong scripting, infrastructure automation, and DevOps mindset
- Hands-on with CI/CD tools, Git, Docker, Kubernetes
- Clear communicator with strong cross-functional collaboration skills
- Background in Agile development environments
