Location: Remote but with a few days in-office/quarter in Washington DC area

Compensation: $190,000 – $225,000 base + significant bonus

Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We're seeking a Chief Data Scientist to take ownership of predictive analytics and statistical modeling efforts across a growing portfolio of internal and public datasets for our client. This is a highly visible, business-facing role focused on uncovering actionable insights to guide strategic investment and operational decisions. We are specifically looking for healthcare and real estate industry experience.

You'll collaborate closely with operations, technology teams, and external partners to mine and model data, develop forecasting tools, and assess performance trends. The ideal candidate is hands-on with Python, familiar with public data (especially CMS, healthcare or government health sources), and excited to work in a fast-moving environment where data maturity is evolving.

What You’ll Do

• Mine, clean, and analyze internal and external datasets to assess operational and financial health
• Build predictive models and dashboards that identify risks and opportunities
• Ingest public datasets (e.g., healthcare, demographic, climate, reimbursement) to supplement internal analytics
• Help shape the organization's internal analytics strategy and reduce reliance on external consultants
• Develop frameworks for ongoing performance benchmarking and trend analysis
• Work closely with stakeholders across operations, tech, and external data engineering partners
• Ensure proper handling of sensitive data and compliance with data security best practices

Ideal Background

• 8+ years of experience in as a Data Scientist
• Strong skills in Python, SQL, and cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
• Familiarity with Power BI, data lakes, and building repeatable data pipelines
• Experience working with public healthcare data, CMS APIs, or government data sources a plus
• Solid understanding of statistics, machine learning, and data visualization
• Strong business acumen and comfort communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Bonus: experience in Real Estate, healthcare, or investment-related analytics
