Job Title: Senior Project Manager – Structural Steel
Location: Remote (Southeast Region) with occasional travel to offices in Delaware, Maryland, and Tennessee.

Leader in structural steel fabrication and erection, has an immediate opening for a Senior Project Manager to oversee and manage large-scale structural steel projects. Operating across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions and offers remote work for qualified candidates in the Southeast region. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management experience, a deep understanding of structural steel, and the ability to effectively lead projects from start to finish.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Project Manager, your role will involve a wide range of responsibilities, including managing multiple high-value projects, coordinating with teams, and ensuring the successful execution of structural steel contracts. You will be a key player in operations and will interact with internal and external stakeholders to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to client specifications.
Key Duties:
- Coordination & Collaboration:
- Work closely with detailers to monitor and ensure timely progress of drawings.
- Liaise with architects and engineers to request and follow up on required information.
- Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and other trades to ensure smooth operations.
- Project Management & Execution:
- Oversee production scheduling, delivery of materials, and site erection processes.
- Resolve job site challenges and manage ongoing project-related issues.
- Manage project timelines, ensuring that key milestones are met.
- Perform site visits and field measurements to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
- Change Order & Financial Management:
- Vet and process change orders, working with General Contractors, Construction Managers, or Owners to negotiate adjustments.
- Collaborate with accounting on job cost estimates, budgets, and financial matters.
- Assist with project closeout documents and final reporting.
- Client & Erector Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met.
- Foster good working relationships with erectors to maintain project execution efficiency.
- Travel & Job Site Oversight:
- Travel as necessary to job sites in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions for project oversight and coordination.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Support and mentor junior project managers and team members, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
Project Scope:
- Manage 4-5 simultaneous projects valued between $1M and $3M each.
- Oversee projects ranging in value from $8M to $12M with an average project timeline of 1.5-2 years.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in structural steel fabrication or erection.
- At least 3 years of experience with a relevant degree in architecture, construction management, or civil/structural engineering.
- Strong understanding of structural and architectural drawings.
- Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Skills & Attributes:
- Expertise in the structural steel industry and project management processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve issues on job sites.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Software & Tools:
- Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Office Suite, and Airtable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in architecture, construction management, or civil/structural engineering.
- PMP certification is not required but will be considered a plus.
