ABOUT THE JOB

The Tepa Companies are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to perform and oversee structural engineering designs of all types of structures and/or facilities for government, commercial and private clients. Responsibilities include development of construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit. Selection of building gravity and lateral systems. Designs may include facility design, working closely with other disciplines, or may be stand-alone structural projects such as retaining walls. Candidate will help manage junior staff, including engineers and/or drafters. Projects may include travel, field measurements/data gathering, calculations and/or drafting by the engineer.

Job Functions:

• Produces plans, reports, and specifications
• Assists in developing drafting and project standards
• Assists in preparation of cost estimates
• Assists in preparation of inspection reports
• Performs quality control and quality assurance
• Performs structural calculations for design of buildings and retaining wall
• Performs structural drafting
• Works closely with junior engineering and drafting staff

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or similar from Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology accredited college or university
• A minimum of fourteen (14) years’ experience
• Licensed Professional Civil Engineer or Structural Engineer, with ability to become licensed PE in other states within 6 months of hire
• 14+ years of design experience in at the state, local, or Federal government markets
• Previous military experience
• Capability of working on multiple projects simultaneously
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems
• Strong oral and written communication skills
