Job Title: Senior Java and/or React Software Engineer - They will hire backend (Java), frontend (React), and full-stack (Java/React) engineers.

6-12 months, with potential for extension

Location: Remote 100% from the Mexico City area. Must be able to commute by car/train to Polanco in Mexico City every 3 months.

About the Opportunity

Our client, a leader in the FinTech industry, is looking for a skilled Senior Software Engineer using Java OR React to join their team. This project involves building and maintaining a high-performance, next-generation electronic trading platform. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

• This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
• Platform Development: Work with a team of engineers to build and maintain the proprietary electronic trading platform.
• Modernisation: Use modern tools and methods to expand the capabilities of their cloud-based application.
• Knowledge Transfer: Help transition the development of the platform to the in-house team.
• Solution Collaboration: Partner with product teams to develop solutions for current and future customers.

Required Skills & Experience

• We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering and data-related technologies.
• Deep expertise in Java (ideally Java 21) with Spring Boot and/or React with TypeScript.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
• Experience with multithreading design patterns, relational databases, SQL, and building cloud-based applications.
• Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team.
• Experience with electronic trading systems and Fixed Income markets is a significant plus.
