TechHeads has partnered with one of Ireland’s most popular websites to bring you an exciting new opportunity. As they continue to grow, they are expanding their engineering team to help maintain and evolve their digital platforms and product offerings..

This is a permanent, remote first role for a Back End Focused Software Engineer based in Ireland. You’ll be involved in both maintaining existing systems and working on greenfield projects for one of the company’s flagship brands. You'll be part of a collaborative Agile team that values open communication, continuous learning and personal growth.

This is a hands-on position for a Backend-focused Software Engineer, with a strong focus on API integration and microservices architecture. This role offers the opportunity to work with a modern tech stack, including Java and AWS, allowing you the opportunity to improve your engineering skillset with the latest tech.

This is a remote first role, allowing you an excellent work life balance where you will have flexibility and autonomy over how you work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain features and products for website/app.
• Ensure the codebase is clean, scalable and secure.
• Work with other likeminded developers as part of an Agile team.
• Work with our product, quality and site reliability teams.
• Carry out unit testing on projects.

Requirements:

• 3+ years’ experience as a Software Engineer
• 3+ years’ experience of Back End Development – Java
• Experience Building RESTful APIs
• Experience with Databases – PostgreSQL/Mongo DB (Preferred)
• Experience with Unit Testing
• A degree or masters in Computer Science/Engineering or a related field
• Experience and understanding of MVC, IoC and ORM frameworks

Nice to Have Experience with the Following:

• AWS
• Kubernetes
• CI/CD
• Microservice Architecture Experience

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary: €55,000 - €70,000 DOE
• Pension, Health and Life Insurance, Remote First
