IT Implementation Engineer (Telecommunications Focus)

Location: Remote | Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST (1-hour unpaid lunch)

Overview:

This role centers on coordinating and implementing voice services across multiple branch locations. The IT Implementation Engineer will handle telecommunications installations and upgrades, manage vendor coordination, and ensure a smooth transition between old and new services. The position emphasizes voice telecommunications, excluding wireless and data routing responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate provisioning and installation of telephony, fax, and alarm services.
Manage multiple installation projects simultaneously.
Place and manage orders for POTS lines and voice/data services via vendor portals.
Collaborate with vendors to confirm scope of work and requirements.
Oversee and document the installation and testing of technical solutions according to defined standards.
Identify and resolve installation issues; ensure successful follow-up and closure.
Maintain accurate documentation and tracking of work orders using enterprise tools (ServiceNow, SharePoint, Project, Planner).
Coordinate efforts with internal engineering, project management, response teams, and security.
Participate in team meetings and communicate relevant updates or concerns to leadership.

Role Details:

Similar to a Project Manager role, but PMP certification is not required.
Requires the ability to manage orders, coordinate tasks, and facilitate communication between internal teams, branch associates, and external vendors.
Role requires discretion and judgment within operational procedures, occasionally requiring problem-solving that goes beyond standard practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of experience in voice telecommunications.
Proven ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.
Strong organizational and coordination skills.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Familiarity with basic networking hardware and infrastructure.
Ability to operate computers, tablets, and mobile devices efficiently.
Experience using project/task management tools such as ServiceNow, SharePoint, Microsoft Project, and Planner.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience coordinating voice, data, and wireless technology implementations.
Understanding of call routing technologies, infrastructure, and cabling.
