Role Summary
As a Visual Designer, you will be responsible for executing high-quality, performance-driven digital experiences for our global client base. Unlike client-facing roles, this position focuses on the technical execution and production of design assets. You will transform creative concepts into pixel-perfect reality using Figma's proprietary design suites. The ideal candidate is a master of design efficiency, possesses an eagle eye for detail, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where technical precision is just as important as aesthetic quality.
Key Responsibilities
Production design & build:
- Execute production-ready designs based on existing concepts, templates, and design systems provided by clients and designers.
- Build and update email and onsite layouts in Figma, following established component libraries, grids, and spacing rules.
- Use proprietary tools (Studio and Dreamie) to:
○ Apply approved layouts and modules.
○ Swap imagery and copy.
○ Create and update variations for different audiences, locales, or devices.
- Produce multiple versions of creatives (A/B variants, seasonal refreshes, localization variants) while maintaining consistent visual quality.
- Prepare, resize, and optimize assets (e.g., hero images, product imagery, icons) to fit specified dimensions and guidelines.
Quality & Technical Accuracy
- Deliver pixel-perfect work aligned to brand guidelines, design systems, and best practices.
- Check layouts across desktop and mobile breakpoints to ensure responsive behavior is visually consistent and usable.
- Apply design best practices related to hierarchy, typography, color, spacing, accessibility, and readability.
- Perform detailed self-QA before handoff:
○ Verify spacing, alignment, and typography scales.
○ Confirm image quality, cropping, and aspect ratios.
○ Ensure correct use of components, variants, and naming conventions.
- Flag any technical or layout limitations you notice in Figma, Studio, or Dreamie so designers/engineers can review.
Collaboration & Workflow
- Work from ticketing and project management tools (e.g., Jira) to:
○ Review briefs and requirements.
○ Deliver work to spec and on time.
○ Add clear notes when something is blocked or needs clarification.
- Collaborate asynchronously with designers, copywriters, and engineers via comments and written updates.
- Follow established file organization and naming conventions for projects, pages, frames, and components so others can easily navigate your work.
- Be responsive and proactive in written communication—acknowledge new assignments, share status updates, and highlight risks early.
Learning & Process Adherence
- Quickly learn and adapt to proprietary tools (Studio, Dreamie) and internal workflows.
- Stay current on design best practices and apply them consistently across assigned work.
- Follow documented checklists and SOPs for repetitive tasks to ensure consistency and reduce errors.
- Provide feedback when you see opportunities to streamline or templatize recurring tasks (e.g., common module patterns, reusable variants).
Required skills & Experience
- 2+ years of experience in visual, UI, email, or digital product design in a production or agency environment.
- Advanced Figma skills, including:
○ Components and variants
○ Auto-layout
○ Styles (color, type, effects)
○ Proficient use of shared libraries
- Experience designing or building email templates and/or onsite marketing creatives.
- Familiarity with responsive design concepts across onsite and emails, and how layouts adapt across devices.
- Solid understanding of HTML/CSS for email and web.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and passion for pixel-perfect execution—you can show examples where you followed strict brand or system guidelines.
- Strong understanding of foundational design principles:
○ Visual hierarchy, composition, and layout
○ Typography and spacing
○ Color usage, contrast, and accessibility considerations
- Proven ability to learn new software quickly—experience with proprietary or in-house tools is a plus.
- Comfortable working from written briefs and tickets in Atlassian (Jira & Confluence), clarifying requirements via written questions when needed.
- Experience working with production workflows (e.g., design tickets, QA checklists, structured review cycles).
- Solid English reading and writing skills for interpreting briefs and documenting work.
