This is a design role unlike any you’ve ever had.
Part product design, part researcher, part customer success, you will embed yourself deeply with our early customers to define the experience and interaction patterns of virtual teammates (AI agents).
Our customers create teammates – virtual colleagues – each with their own identities and personalities; they hang out in public Slack channels, share Google docs, receive GMail, and so much more. You will help shape how teammates present themselves and interact with humans in all sorts of external environments. Are they chatty or terse in Slack? Do they use emoji reactions? How often do they ask a human for help, and if they don’t get a response, do they start nagging? What is the user experience when you email them? When you text them? Or when you call them??? You’ll spend as much time designing experiences inside our product as you will designing experiences in other people’s products.
And to truly internalize and understand the capabilities and possibilities of Teammates, you will help support our earliest customers and design partners. You will help onboard them to our product, teach and evolve their teammates, and do what is needed to make them successful. (Note that this is unlike most traditional product design roles. We believe that working super intimately with real early customers leads to much better outcomes than traditional user research).
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end interactive experience of our teammates (AI agents), both in our own app and in 3rd party applications.
- Work closely with and support our early customers / design partners. Help make them successful and deeply understand their behavior
- Translate your learnings into product requirements, product documentation, lo-fi and hi-fi mocks, etc
- Own the product design of our web dashboard to for customers to create and manage their teammates
- Design and operate your own teammates, pushing the boundaries of our product and uncovering what this bleeding edge technology is capable of #dogfood
Requirements
- Substantial experience with UX and/or interaction design for B2B technology products
- Experience designing and bringing something to life that is NOT a traditional web/mobile app. (It can be anything – a robot vacuum, a billboard, a command line interface, an interactive laser drone show. But it should be something that got you out of Figma wireframes and really stretched your design sensibilities)
- Excitement about working directly with real customers
- A creative problem solver. No really. There is nothing straightforward about what we’re doing here :-)
- Thrive in an absurdly fast paced environment. We are operating at the bleeding edge of AI product development. The AI ecosystem is changing ~hourly and we need to be at the forefront.
- You’re super excited about the latest AI tools and technology. Whether it’s using new technology to get your work done better, or building something yourself with LLMs, you know AI is oh so much more than just ChatGPT.
