Position Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Lead AI Software Engineer to technically leader our AI-driven software projects, and unlock the potential of GenAI across the team.blue group. The ideal candidate will utilise their technical knowledge to build exceptional AI-driven products and experiences.

This role is ideal for innovative developers eager to design, implement and integrate scalable AI solutions, focusing on APIs, RAG architectures, and agentic frameworks. It’s an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our AI for SMBs, to work in an agile environment, with the latest technologies including AI based coding assistants and bring your ideas to life.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable AI powered software solutions, focusing on APIs, RAG architectures, and agentic frameworks
• Implement agentic AI systems using tools such as MCP servers and APIs
• Integrate AI software solutions into existing environments and workflows, ensuring seamless operation and performance optimization
• Test and deploy software solutions that meet business needs
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and consistency
• Become well recognized as an internal AI expert, driving key AI initiatives from concept to deployment supporting the transformation into an AI first company
• Mentor team members

Ideal Profile:

• 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering, ideally in full stack/backend product-focused software engineering
• Strong proficiency in Python programming (leveraging frameworks like FastAPI, Flask), microservices architecture and event-driven architecture(eg. KafKa, SSE, WebSocket)
• Expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs) including fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and working daily with models like GPT, Claude, Gemini
• Hands-on experience with vector databases (e.g., OpenSearch, FAISS) for efficient similarity search and semantic search & retrieval of text embeddings
• Practical experience deploying and scaling RAG systems and AI agents in a production environment.
• Skilled in implementing conversational AI systems leveraging APIs like OpenAI Chat Completion and Assistant endpoints
• Knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques to enhance model responses by integrating external knowledge bases during inference (would be a great plus)
• Strong problem-solving skills with excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Nice to have Skills:

• Experience building multi-hop RAG systems with self-consistency and chain-of-thought prompting
• Deep understanding of current AIOps & MLOps practices, deploying and monitoring real-time inference models and ETL pipelines
• Experience with distributed data tools (eg. Spark, Dask, Apache Beam)
• Experience with cloud platform technologies
