Principal Software Engineer – .NET/Vue.js/AWS

This role will primarily support TaxAct as the organization helps everyday Americans file their taxes. We seek to build a team of experts in tax and technology who are customer advocates and have the mindset to reimagine the services our customers receive.

We’re hiring a Principal Software Engineer to lead high-impact initiatives across our pre-auth, authentication, and early customer experience surfaces and critical areas that shape how customers first engage with our platform.

In this hands-on IC role, you’ll architect and deliver scalable, reliable systems, modernize performance-critical flows, and drive adoption of AI-enhanced development tools across engineering.

What you'll do:

• Lead complex, cross-functional projects from concept to delivery.
• Architect core systems across auth and early customer experience surfaces.
• Champion engineering excellence, performance, and maintainability.
• Pilot and scale AI-assisted development workflows across teams.

What you bring:

• 10+ years building and operating large-scale web applications.
• Deep experience with C#/.NET & Vue.js or similar (React, Angular, Java, Go).
• Comfortable in AWS and Kubernetes environments.
• Strong grasp of REST APIs, async systems, CI/CD, and observability.
• Experience with authentication, onboarding, or identity flows is a plus.

Bonus: You’re excited about using tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Codex to boost quality and velocity.
