As we expand our e-commerce and telehealth platform across Asia, we’re seeking a Staff Software Engineer in SEA region to help us build the backbone of this next-generation consumer biotech business.
You’ll work side‑by‑side with the Head of Software Engineering to lead the design, implementation, and operation of our deodorant e‑commerce and Telehealth service (including online clinical workflows). In a lean team, you’ll own everything from technical decision‑making and customer experience improvements to quality and security. This role demands both initiative and speed: the ability to anticipate needs, switch contexts quickly, and take full ownership of the backbone of the software engineering at Taxa.

2) What You’ll Drive
- Architecture design, implementation, and reviews for critical features from beta through GA
- Roadmapping, prioritization, and delivery management with the Head of Software Engineering (also serving as PdM/Tech Lead)
- Feedback loops via regular reviews with physicians and Customer Success
- Mechanisms and monitoring that meet quality and security standards
- Incident response and on‑call design; DevSecOps/CI/CD foundations
- Authoring ADRs and design docs; fostering a culture of knowledge sharing
3) Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
- Frontend development in TypeScript/React/Next.js; design system creation
- Backend development with Node.js and GraphQL/REST APIs; operate serverless/containerized stacks on AWS
- Test automation (unit/E2E), observability and alerting (e.g., Datadog), and ongoing log/audit trail operations
- Code reviews and mentorship; systematic technical debt management
- ADR/Design‑doc‑driven AI‑assisted coding
- Indicative workload split: Frontend 40% / Backend & Integrations 40% / Reliability & Operations 20%
4) Required Qualifications
- 2+ years as a lead engineer on a B2C or SaaS product
- Hands‑on experience with TypeScript + React on the frontend and Node.js on the backend
- Production operations on AWS, including IaC with Terraform (build & run)
- Proven leadership of reliability initiatives: automated tests, CI/CD, monitoring/alerting
- Practical use of AI development assistants (e.g., Coding Agents) to balance speed and quality
- Strong communication skills to lead technical decisions with product, design, and medical stakeholders
- Track record as the launch owner for a 0→1 product or a major re‑platform (from scope to operational hand‑off)
5) Nice to Have
- Mobile development (React Native/Flutter)
- Experience with Telehealth/online clinical workflows or clinician‑facing SaaS
- IaC (Terraform/CDK) plus security audits/compliance (e.g., SOC 2, HITRUST)
- Data platform, MLOps, or ML components such as symptom‑intake/triage AI
- Tech lead/mentorship experience on a distributed, remote team

- Core hours: Weekdays 10:00–14:00 JST (shared sync window)
- Rituals: Daily stand‑ups, Sprint Review, Sprint Planning, Sprint Retrospective
