Release Train Engineer
Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
• Ensure the Agile Release Train (ART) stays on course by facilitating its events and processes and assisting the teams in delivering value and driving relentless improvement. Typically, a servant leader who acts as Chief Scrum Master and coach for the ART
• Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART using various tools, such as the program and value stream Kanbans
• Establish and communicate the annual calendars for iterations and program increments Facilitate Program Increment (PI) Planning (communicate vision, roadmap and prioritized features), PI Planning readiness, Scrum of Scrums, System Demos, other relevant ART-level syncs, and assist with PO Sync meetings as needed to help the ART manage work Aggregate team objectives into program objectives and publish them for visibility and transparency
• Assist with execution and feature/capability completion tracking (OKRs/metrics)
• Facilitate periodic synchronization meetings
• Assist with economic decision-making by facilitating team features and capability estimation and roll-up to the value stream and portfolio level
• Encourage collaboration between teams, system and solution architects, and UX designers Work with Chief Product Owner, Product Owners, Tech Leads, and other stakeholders to communicate objectives, risks, dependencies and key milestones to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
• Help manage risks and dependencies, escalate and track impediments
• Must Drive continuous improvement via workshops; assess the maturity level continuum of the program/value stream
• Must have the Domain Expertise (PLM ) Product/Digital Expertise along with Leadership skills and behaviors
• Strong familiarity with ART product vision and experience Deep understanding of how to effectively scale Agile
• Ability to summarize and track Pl objectives and the program dependency board
• Ability to assess the agility level of the ART and help them improve
