Position Overview
A leading global technology consulting company is seeking an experienced Senior Power Systems Software Engineer to join their Energy Management Systems team. This role focuses on customizing and delivering advanced transmission power systems applications, working closely with Electric Utilities, ISOs (Independent System Operators), and TSOs (Transmission System Operators).
Must-Have Technical/Functional Skills
- 5+ years of experience customizing and delivering Energy Management Systems, preferably with enterprise-level AEMS platforms
- Proven experience working on Power Systems applications for transmission, including:
- Load flow analysis
- Contingency analysis
- Power Factor optimization
- Other transmission system applications
- 5+ years of programming experience in C++, Java, or other related object-oriented languages
- 5+ years of experience with LINUX and Windows Operating Systems
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead advanced Power Systems Application software development for transmission systems
- Ensure successful delivery of assigned functions to meet corporate project/product commitments
- Collaborate with Electric Utilities, ISOs, and TSOs on functional software specifications
- Design, code, test, and integrate power systems applications
- Perform application tuning and optimization for production environments
- Deliver high-quality solutions that meet customer requirements and industry standards
Managerial Skills
- Engage directly with customers on day-to-day technical issues and requirements
- Organize and facilitate customer calls to drive solution implementation
- Adhere to change control and compliance protocols throughout the project lifecycle
- Validate that solutions effectively address customer needs and technical requirements
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely project delivery
Ideal Candidate Profile
Candidates with experience in enterprise AEMS platforms, Power Systems applications, and transmission system operations are highly preferred.
