What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)

• Architect and maintain the Kafka environment to support system expansion across multiple AWS regions
• Own and manage Kafka and related infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and resilience
• Build and support streaming client frameworks, including Kafka Connect/Debezium and Spark Structured Streaming
• Mentor other engineers on the team and assist them in using data streaming technologies
• Drive team efficiency improvements and lead automation initiatives for consistency and reliability

What Is Required (Qualifications)

• 7+ years of experience in Software or Systems Development
• 3+ years of experience running Kafka clusters and/or clients in large-scale production environments
• 3+ years of experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• 7+ years of experience with Java and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience

How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• Experience with CloudFormation or Terraform
• Ability to participate in complex technical discussions with diverse audiences
• Experience monitoring infrastructure application health
• Ability to guide a team of engineers to identify and implement solutions
• Willingness to work in an on-call rotation supporting Kafka and related infrastructure
