What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)

• Design, develop, and maintain software that virtualizes devices for virtual machines
• Drive innovations and lead design discussions for virtualization platform enhancements
• Collaborate with the Virtual Platform Infrastructure team on system software development
• Gain expertise in the various virtual devices supported by the organization
• Contribute to impactful engineering projects within the first year

What Is Required (Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with 20+ years of experience in OS/kernel development; Master’s degree with 15 years is desirable
• Strong proficiency in C programming language; experience in C++ and scripting languages is a plus
• In-depth knowledge of OS internals including system libraries, file systems, and device drivers on various operating systems
• Proficiency in network device drivers and understanding of TCP/IP internals and networking protocols
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• Experience with RoCE, InfiniBand network technology, and Ethernet technologies
• Familiarity with different storage protocols and algorithms for code efficiency
• Open source contribution experience
• Strong debugging and performance analysis skills
• Understanding of security best practices in software development
