What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)

• Lead the development of Unreal Engine-based training environments for lunar surface excursion operations
• Provide facilities support for virtual reality-based astronaut training
• Oversee development and upgrades to simulations of various space systems
• Support testing sessions for lunar excursion trials and other virtual reality-based tests
• Collaborate with NASA customers and third-party product owners to achieve project objectives

What Is Required (Qualifications)

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident for access to U.S. Government facilities
• B.S. in Computer Science, Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in VR/AR system development
• Proven experience in leadership of a team of software engineers
• Strong computer and software skills in both Linux and Windows environments using C/C++
• Highly responsible, team-oriented individual with strong work ethic and organizational skills

How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• Significant experience with UR4/5 and C++
• Familiarity with space vehicle systems and operations, and aerospace dynamics
• Experience with project management tools such as Jira and Confluence
• Knowledge of VR hardware systems such as Vive/Lighthouse or Meta Quest
• Experience with graphical tools such as Blender, Maya, or Photoshop
