What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)
- Design and implement scalable backend systems to support the Joist product
- Develop and maintain robust RESTful APIs using server-side technologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to code quality standards
- Perform root cause analysis and debugging to resolve complex software issues
What Is Required (Qualifications)
- 5+ years of professional experience in agile development teams
- Expertise in server-side API frameworks such as Ruby on Rails or equivalent
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design and database technologies
- Experience with microservices architecture and Docker for development
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively
How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience with Kubernetes or ECS for containerized applications
- Familiarity with payment processing systems like Stripe or PayPal
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code practices for cloud platforms
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience interfacing with email service providers like MailChimp or SendGrid
