What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)

• Design and implement scalable backend systems to support the Joist product
• Develop and maintain robust RESTful APIs using server-side technologies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to code quality standards
• Perform root cause analysis and debugging to resolve complex software issues

What Is Required (Qualifications)

• 5+ years of professional experience in agile development teams
• Expertise in server-side API frameworks such as Ruby on Rails or equivalent
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and database technologies
• Experience with microservices architecture and Docker for development
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively

How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• Experience with Kubernetes or ECS for containerized applications
• Familiarity with payment processing systems like Stripe or PayPal
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code practices for cloud platforms
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Experience interfacing with email service providers like MailChimp or SendGrid
